Platform London are a collective of educators, artists, environmentalists, and human rights campaigners, driven by a need for social and ecological justice. Previously Platform had different websites for the main strands of their activities — arts, activism, education, and research, which unintentionally had led to the organisation’s online presence becoming disjointed and cluttered, without any real visual consistency.
Working in collaboration with Platform a series of wireframes, site maps, and grids were designed to unify the existing content from the old sites into one comprehensive new website. There was also an opportunity to give Platform’s online visual identity a refresh. Using their pre-existing logo roundel, which is deliberately ‘stamp-like’, to align with their grassroots values, I created a supporting stacked logotype to augment and reinforce the organisation’s objectives. Additionally, a new colour palette was introduced to not only make Platform’s visual identity consistent, but also give a modern and positive presence.
